Carl Ellis Board Member -- Reverend Carl Ellis is currently the Dean of Intercultural Studies at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has pastored at the Friendship Community Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee and taught seminars for Prison Fellowship Ministries. Reverend Ellis is one of the most well-respected teachers of our day, and has written numerous articles and authored five books, including his latest: Going Global, published by Urban Ministries, Inc., in March 2005. Reverend Ellis is a sought-after preacher, teacher, and lecturer.
Elizabeth Level Board Member -- Mrs. Level has served on the board of the Gloucester Institute since its founding. Prior to joining the Gloucster Institute, Mrs. Level served on the staff of U.S. Senator George Allen as his regional representative for Hampton Roads, VA, from 2001 to 2004. Mrs. Level has a bachelor's degree in English from Hampton University, is a mother of three children, and resides in Fairfax County, Virginia.
John Littel, Esq. Board Member -- Mr. Littel Serves as Executive Vice President, External Affairs for the AMERIGROUP, Corp. Mr. Littel has served in a variety of positions in federal and state governments, including as Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Resources for the Commonwealth of Virginia, where he was responsible for the state's welfare reform and healthcare initiatives, and as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for the White House Drug Policy Office. He has also served as counsel and deputy director of the Citizenship Project at the Heritage Foundation and as senior counselor to the Director of the Office of Personnel Management.
Maurice Kuykendoll Board Member -- Mr. Kuykendoll is currently enrolled full time at Harvard Business School where he is pursuing a Masters in Business Administration. Prior to Harvard, Maurice was the Gen X/Gen Y Market Manager for Prudential’s Individual Life Insurance business unit. In this role, Maurice was primarily responsible for driving strategy to target younger consumers. Maurice is also a frequent presenter at conferences and industry meetings on topics relating to marketing strategy for 18-25 year old demographic. Maurice holds a B.S. in Accounting from Hampton University. He is active in Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America. He is also the founder of Project H.O.P.E. (Hamptonians Organizing for Progress in Education), which in 2008 was the largest collegiate-based community initiative in Hampton Roads. Mr. Kuykendoll is also a former member of The Gloucester Institute's Emerging Leaders Program.
Will Nance Board Member -- Will Nance is the Executive Director of Greenspring, an Erickson Retirement Community in Springfield, Virginia. Mr. Nance is responsible for the overall management of 1,000 employees serving seniors living in 1,409 independent apartments, 104 assisted living units and 180 nursing beds. Having worked for Erickson since 1998, Will previously served at Prison Fellowship Ministries and in the George H. W. Bush administration. Will received a Marketing degree from Auburn University and a Masters of Business Administration from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland. Among others, Will serves on the board of Restoration Ministries, Inc. and the advisory board of the George Mason University Program in Assisted Living and Senior Housing.
