How long is the Fellowship?
Eight consecutive weeks in the summer. For 2017, the Fellowship will run from Tuesday, May 30th – Friday, July 21st.
Do you accept specific majors?
We accept all majors. Your summer project will be based on your career goals and desires.
What is the application procedure?
To apply, click HERE. Read the instructions and required documents. Submit your online application. The deadline to apply for the Class of 2016 is Monday, March 21, 2016.
Is this a paid Fellowship?
Yes, we provide a $1500 stipend for the fellowship. You will be paid bi-weekly throughout the summer.
Is housing provided?
No, housing is not provided. But, since Richmond is a college town there are numerous affordable options for May, June, and July.

Are meals provided?
Sometimes! We would suggest you anticipate all the costs including meals. You can expect at least one lunch will be covered a week. You will be on your own for dinner unless we are at a scheduled event.
How much money should I bring along?
The amount of money required for any given term in Richmond will vary greatly from student to student depending on one’s lifestyle and habits. We suggest students budget about $150 – $175 per week for food, gas, and entertainment. Please note our office is located in Downtown Richmond and there a few lunch options in walking distance and many more in less than a five-minute drive. We would suggest you budget about $8- 14 for lunch, unless of course, you bring your own. We have a break room with a refrigerator and microwave.
Is travel included?
Yes, when we travel to DC and other cities in Virginia, gas, food, and lodging will be cared for.
What is the dress code?
Business professional. There will be about 3 days where business causal will be appropriate. Upon acceptance into the Fellowship, you will receive a week-by- week attire breakdown.
Can I get financial support from The Gloucester Institute?
The Gloucester Institute does not provide financial support. All successful applicants are expected to make their own arrangements for travel, lodging, and living expenses. Resources should not be a barrier to participating. If you find yourself having difficulties, please contact us.
After submitting my online application do I need to take any other action to ensure that my application is received and reviewed?
No, once you submit your online application the Programs Director will be notified and the evaluation process will begin. After the Programs Director reviews the applications they will be sent to the Selection Committee, and lastly, to the President to select the finalists.
