QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTION

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) is for donors aged 70 1/2 and older to decrease their taxable income by donating directly from their IRA. You can avoid taxes on gifts up to $100,000 and it may satisfy your required minimum distribution for the year.

How it works:

  1. Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to Gloucester Institute

  2. Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to Gloucester Institute to help continue our important work

  3. Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction

Tip: A qualified charitable distribution is an excellent strategy for both your annual and legacy giving!

Gloucester Institute is not engaged in rendering legal or tax advisory services. Individuals considering gifts to Gloucester Institute should obtain the services of a financial advisor, such as an attorney, a certified public accountant, a certified financial planner and/or a chartered life underwriter.
